Survey Results: 91% disagree with Rep’s vote for Speaker

Here are the results of our survey on whether Ohioans agree with their Representative’s recent choice for the U.S. Speaker of the House.

The survey received a total of 1,162 responses.

Do you agree with the way your Representative voted in the House Speaker election?

  • 91.3% No
  • 8.7% Yes

Party affiliation of survey respondents (i.e. lean toward):

  • 84.4% Republican
  • 2.6% Democrat
  • 9.4% Libertarian
  • 3.6% Other

This survey was conducted from 1-7-2015 through 1-12-2015 and was paid for by Ohio Rising, Inc. Not affiliated with any candidate or candidate’s committee.

    It seems that the U.S. House of Representatives have given too much power to the speaker, and we should make it a focus of this congress to change the rules to make sure that the speaker cannot punish reps for voting the way that their constituents want. I don’t see how this can’t be a major part of getting our government back under control of the people.
